Seeing Red

.

Ever since first I laid my eyes

on yvonne’s beautiful home here

I’ve become quite partial to a splash of red

since then…

my xmas colour theme was red,

I repainted a chair in red,

I’ve even been wearing a little red!

It’s funny how…

when something really beautiful catches your eye

it can leave it’s mark in your mind.

Don’t you just love the red ant chairs above

and what a great way to add colour to your home…

don’t be afraid to mix them up

 with other colours as well.

What a gorgeous room

styled by katja graumann.

We are in the painted furniture trend right now

and here the painted red chair

adds that little extra touch of exuberance.

How pretty is this Cath Kidston vintage theme

and doesn’t the red chair fit in perfectly…

notice the shine to the chair?

Looks like it painted in a full gloss finish…

nice!

Here the red accents

create a lovely colour palette

against the blue and all that white!

Thankyou for visiting my blog today

and I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing red too!

Gorgeous pops of colour

.

How I love this picture…

when I first saw it

all I could do was stare and stare

it was the colours that initially got me…

the greys with the gorgeous pops

 of pink and purple

.

.

Don’t you just love the styling here..

the simplicity

but also the everydayness the milk carton evokes

and again the pops of colour

.

.

Here the neutrals, greys and whites

play up the purples

Just one minimalist pink flower

  can still make an impact

I love the coolness of the blue whites

mixed with the warm milk whites

and again…

just that tiny punch of pink.

Revamping a chair

.

This week I’ve had such fun

revamping an old chair…

.

.

I really wanted to girlie it up…

so firstly I painted the lower legs white,

and then the rest in a fun retro inspired clear red

before adding some extra pretty detail

with pink washi tape

Moody grey and colour

.

I’ve been thinking about…

moody greys with bright pops of colour

.

This is purple undertoned grey with yellow

and what I especially love is

how the yellow hue of the chair

looks to have a touch of lime in it.

This is blue undertoned grey with primary red

and wow…

aren’t the colours striking!

This is green undertoned grey with blue

and although the moody greys

 will substantially darken a room

I do love how they make a great foil

for bright pops of colour!
